Club Kid Counselor

The Club Kid Program is an afterschool program that requires all staff to be available Monday through Friday from 2:30pm until 6:15pm. Pending registration, staff may have the opportunity to have a flexible schedule and may not be needed to work everyday.
Statement of Duties
The Club Kid Counselor is primarily responsible for the organization and implementation of daily activities.
This position creates a safe, enjoyable, and educational atmosphere for participants. This person reports to work under the direction of their assigned Club Kid Director and Recreation Supervisor.
Areas of Responsibility
Supervises all assigned program participants to assure a safe and fun experience.
Organizes, implements and participates in daily activities.
Must follow, administer and implement all policies and procedures of theVillageofLincolnwoodand the Lincolnwood Club Kid program.
Ensures rules and regulations with participants.
Responsible for assisting with daily attendance records.
Assists with maintaining inventory of all supplies.
Reports to all staff meetings as scheduled.
Provides leadership and problem solving for participants.
Ensures that Club Kid headquarters and related areas are safe and clean for participants and staff.
Recommends ideas and changes to Club Kid Director.
Responds to participants, complaints and concerns.
Familiar withVillageofLincolnwoodemergency procedures.
Must be certified in First Aid and CPR.
Must demonstrate leadership skills.
Must be a positive role model for participants.
Helps walk over youth from schools to other afterschool activities run by the Parks and Recreation department.
Other duties as assigned.
One year of relevant experience preferred.
Ability to work with children.
Ability to maintain good working relationship with fellow employees.
Ability to be prompt and create and enjoyable, positive atmosphere every day.
Interest in promoting the positive image and growth of the Village of Lincolnwood and the Department of Parks and Recreation.
Psychological Considerations
May experience stress related to working with parents, participants, and staff.
Must be able to effectively resolve problems and issues that may arise with parents, participants, and staff.
Physiological Considerations
May often be working out-of-doors.
May experience long periods of standing, sitting, or walking.
Environmental Considerations
May be exposed to all types of weather conditions, especially very hot and humid weather.
May be exposed to biting and stinging insects.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
